Our Love Story
I t was a calm sunny day in March 2016 — with an enough wind that blows outside the building of Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The day feels so light yet just right for them to start the day. Little did they know, they will meet each other and their story at that moment has just begun. Hours passed and Jef saw someone who caught his attention. At that moment — it was something that he cannot explain, but he was happy. It's true that when you've found your 'the one', the world just suddenly stops for a moment. It was a magic that he wasn't expecting but he knew for sure that there is certainty the moment he saw the girl named Joy. Months went by, he already knew the name of the girl that struck his heart. Fast forward — September 2016, Jef asked Joy out and had their first date at Robinson's Manila. It was simple but romantic, with pure intention and right reasons for the right person he formally asked her if he could court her. And the answer was — yes.
On the seventh day of January 2017 — Jef and Joy made it official. With the lights and the great ambiance at Venice Grand Canal, Joy has finally decided to give her 'yes' to Jef to be her boyfriend. At that moment the two felt all the kind of kilig and happiness they have on their hearts. It was an enchanting night. Their story continued. A couple of months after, they went to Baguio as their first out of town experience as an official couple, 2019 marked as their first out of the country together at Dubai, UAE. As each love story has to go through, there was never an exception to experience a challenge. In 2019 to 2021, for two years, Jef and Joy had to be in a long distance relationship. However, their love for each other remained strong and with God's permission, on 11th of July 2023 they sealed it through Jef's proposal to Joy at Sentosa Beach, Singapore. And for the third time, just as how many words the 'I love you' has — the answer was 'Yes'. E ight years went by so fast but it was full of great experience and love. Now we are yet to witness how these two would have now officially bow their promises to each other in front of our Dear Lord. At this very moment, with the right reason, with the right persons, Jef and Joy, and of course with God's permission — let us all witness, bless them with love and pray for them to continuously have a loving and beautiful forever.
