"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self[a] is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."
- 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No.” For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas[c] and Timothy—was not “Yes” and “No,” but in him it has always been “Yes.” For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God."
- 2 Corinthians 1:18-20

Our Love Story

Alvin and I have known each other since 2007, but we've never met personally until 2019. We'd been talking about anything and everything thru SMS and chats back then, (uso pa nuon ang GM as in group message LOL), and we became friends on friendster and then on facebook. I remembered him as super alaskador and lagi akong napipikon sa kanya which always led to us breaking up a relationship that hasn't even started yet.

And then came 2019, his brother and I became workmates (I didn't even know at that time that he has a brother!). Thru social media algorithm and increasing number of common friends in facebook, we bumped into each other again (well, virtually), and then started talking to each other...again. That is how the 12 long years of being dormant friends (frenemies / ka-MU as in malabong usapan / jojowain o totropahin era) ended...when we finally met.

This time, it was a different Alvin and Ericka that have met. Maturity and longer patience have already gotten into us. Before, there was brokenness, now there's healing. Before it was just a superficial attraction, now it's deeper connection.

God has given us the "perfect timing", we both said that.

"Siguro kung pinilit natin nuon, baka hindi na tayo ngayon."

The same people involved, but two different seasons. It is true that in every chapter of our lives, there is always a purpose, and there is something that God wants us to learn that is why we have to go through it...something that we need for the next chapter.

In the previous chapter of our lives, it was maturity and stability for Alvin; for me it was healing and inner peace. And to this new chapter of our lives, its faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is LOVE.
